Europe Plants a Flag in the Digital-Tax Debate – Wall Street Journal

The European Union could hardly have chosen a more provocative moment to launch proposals for a new digital tax.

The EU’s trade commissioner is currently in Washington trying to persuade the Trump administration to exempt the bloc from new U.S. tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, amid fears of a trade war. The U.S. and EU are at loggerheads over a range of other issues ranging from climate change to Iran to defense spending.
